Track is back!
World Sport Chicago is excited to offer the sixth season of our Summer Track Program! This free city-wide program, for boys and girls ages 6 – 14, is designed to provide basic training in track and field as well as community based programming to keep kids active and engaged in positive activities during the summer.Â
Summer Track Program Registration is open and spots are filling up quickly. If you know of any Chicago community groups interested in fielding at team, please encourage them to sign up soon as space is limited. Participant registration is scheduled to open at the end of April and information will be posted on our website. We will also be looking for volunteers to help with the meets during the summer so if you are interested in volunteering check back with us for more information in the coming months.
Meet dates are tentatively scheduled to take place on June 28th, July 12th and July 26th and we are working to finalize city locations.
The program continues to grow each year as last year over 500 children representing over 20 Chicago community organizations participated. This year we hope to see those numbers increase even more as we are again inviting Chicago community-based organizations to become our program partners and field a team.
The program is scheduled to run from June through July and is open to youth of all physical and visual abilities. Coaches and parent volunteers work with youth two to three times a week in practice and attend three instructional meets throughout the season hosted by World Sport Chicago. The meets provide opportunities for fun and rewarding competition as well as opportunities for youth to participate in and benefit from the various track and field events that are offered.
We are looking forward to another successful season!
