Kam Buckner
Executive Director
In 2015, Kam joined WSC, bringing with him an extensive background in Chicago area sports from his time working with the Chicago Cubs and at Wrigley Field, Soldier Field, and the United Center, and playing on the University of Illinois football team. He is committed to provide youth all over the city the chance to engage in sports and the opportunity to succeed despite often challenging circumstances.

Jason Eby
Program Director
Jason started with WSC during its public launch in 2007 as part of Chicago's bid for the Games. His time at WSC has allowed him the privilege of working with passionate people from many walks of life - a fact he takes as a daily source of inspiration. Jason works towards a more hopeful Chicago through perseverance, opportunity, and community believing that all should have the confidence and opportunity to achieve their dreams.

Amy Rosko
Development Director
Amy joined WSC at the end of 2011. In her role, she leverages the power of sport and teamwork to make a difference in the community and for the donors who fuel WSC’s mission. Amy has a diverse background in sports, events, volunteer management, business development, sponsorship, marketing, and community outreach at the local, national and international level. Amy is passionate about WSC’s supporters and committed to providing rewarding opportunities for them to make a difference.

Max Pinson
Investments Specialist
Max came to WSC as a mentor in 2013 before joining the team full time as a program manager. From a childhood filled with sports to his mentoring work, Max has seen the power sports can have on the development of a child and their importance in providing a controllable and reliable space for a young person in an unpredictable world.

Simona Novinec
Policy Specialist
Simona volunteered with WSC before joining full-time in 2014. Born and raised in Slovenia, Simona demonstrated a passion for sports from a young age. She represented Slovenia in volleyball at the international level and is still a competitive athlete, participating in multiple marathons and triathlon races. In addition to her sports background, Simona brings a passion for helping others. She has spent time teaching under-served youth in rural Kenya and earned a Masters in International Public Service.

Ian Farr
Engagement Specialist
Ian joined WSC in 2016 as a Community Engagement Specialist after previously working as a programming intern. He brings a passion for sports to empower and enhance lives. Originally from Portland, Ian was a student athlete at Penn State and went on to earn a master’s from Northwestern University in Sports Admin. He's competed and coached on the international level in Fencing. He enjoys participating in a variety of sports and exploring Chicago.

Liz Halvorzon
Development Associate
Liz joined WSC in July of 2016 as a Development Associate after completing her master’s in Sport Administration from Belmont University. While there she served as a graduate assistant in Sports Information and Operations. Liz brings a passion for sports and its ability to connect people. In her free time, Liz enjoys trying out new restaurants, crafting and long walks to explore Chicago.

WSC Interns

Matt Myers
Spring '16
Matt joined WSC this spring for a one month operations internship as part of his Senior Project at New Trier High School. He grew up in the northern Chicago suburb of Winnetka where he’s worked as a beach attendant, baseball coach, basketball score keeper and Winnetka Park District field supervisor. He loves playing sports and was excited about his senior project to learn more about how a nonprofit organization works.
Alex Benson
Winter '16
Alex is from Badger, IA and attends Northwestern College studying Accounting and Sport Management. Alex plays soccer and has fielded up as goalkeeper for four years. Off the field, his faith serves him as a source of strength and motivation to excellence using his goalkeeper reflexes as part of a Bible Bowl team. Alex pursued an internship with WSC through Chicago Semester because of its values, a connection to sports and an interest in non-profit work.
