2009 Mayor Daley's Sports Fest

World Sport Chicago is proud to once again be a part of the 2009 Mayor Daley's Sports Fest, hosted by the Mayor's Office of Special Events. This 2-day free event annually gets over 80,000 visitors and this year, WSC's presence will be bigger and better than ever. Archery, badminton, fencing, team handball, rowing, judo and wrestling are just some of the expected activities that kids the young at heart can not only just watch but also tryout first hand in the WSC Interactive Zone.

Olympians and Paralympians will be present demonstrating, coaching and interacting one-on-one with Sports Fest attendees. Also back this year, in partnership with Vancouver 2010 Legacies Now, kids can test their fitness and find a sport that fits them through SportFit.

This year WSC will partner to offer tournaments in badminton, wrestling and fencing for local Chicago programs.

Sports Fest 2009 also marks the 1-year anniversary of the Chicago Paralympic Development Program as a partnership with USA Paralympics and over 13 other partner organizations. Featured this year will be disability sport demonstrations and tournaments in bocceball, disability track and disability rowing.
With over 18,000 square feet of activities, this is not an event to be missed. Share the holidays with World Sport Chicago and volunteer, visit or simply tryout new and exciting Olympic and Paralympic sports.
