World Sport Chicago is proud to support First Lady Michelle Obama's call to action to address child obesity. WSC commits to facilitating information to parents and families on the importance of making healthy choices. Further, WSC will commit to developing avenues to increase the access and availability of sport for urban Chicago youth and will encourage active participation and sustained involvement in sport.

On February 9th, 2010 President Obama signed a Presidential Memorandum to establish a task force on childhood obesity and to address the growing health epidemic. The task force was charged with developing an interagency, private-public plan to address the obesity problem as a part of The First Lady's Let's Move campaign. The campaign will address ways to encourage families and their youth to become more active and eat healthier.
