2010 Boccia NationalsThe Chicago Park District hosted the 2010 Boccia National Championships at Curie Park. World Sport Chicago was a partner in the event that welcomed 70 athletes from across the country to compete. Local players from across the metro area gathered to face off against stiff national caliber opponents. Chicagoland players medaled in many of the classes, including 16-year old Chris Sandoval who earned a bronze medal at his first national tournament. For full results, please click here. Great job by our hosts to organize a high level opportunity for the athletes to succeed!

2010 National Junior Disability ChampionshipsFor the first time in its 26-year history, the National Junior Disability Championships (NJDC) were in Chicagoland. World Sport Chicago was proud to be the title sponsor of the ten-day event hosted by the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA). The events took place in Lake Forest and Deerfield and over 300 athletes with physical or visual disabilities under age 22 from the US, Canada and Bermuda participated. Illinois was the only state to have more than one team represented; we had eight teams at NJDC. This is very exciting evidence of the growing Paralympic Movement in Chicagoland! Please click here for the results of the multi-sport competition. Congratulations to all of the athletes for their success and many thanks to GLASA for hosting such a superior national event!
