Blaze Sports of America
Blaze Sports is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advances the lives of youth and adults with physical disability through sport and healthy lifestyles. BlazeSports provides sports training, competitions, summer camps and other sports and recreational opportunities for youth and adults with spinal cord injury, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, amputation, visual impairment or blindness as well as other physical disabilities.
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) -
The Chicago Public Schools is the third-largest public education system in the country and maintains one of the nation's largest sport programs. The more than 66,000 student athletes are represented in 20 elementary school programs and 29 high school programs. WSC partners with CPS in supplementing these programs and providing resources for their continued expansion and enhancement.
Chicago Park District (CPD) -
The Chicago Park District (CPD) is one of the oldest and largest city park districts in the country maintaining over 7300 acres of parkland, 552 parks, 220 facilities, 33 beaches, 16 lagoons, ten bird and wildlife preservations, nine museums and two conservatories. Annually, CPD also maintains thousands of diverse special events, recreational sports and community programs. WSC partners with CPD in providing tickets to world class competition, unique training opportunities, program assistance and access to valuable resources.
Fox Valley Special Recreation Association
Fox Valley Special Recreation Association provides a lifetime of opportunities for children and adults with disabilities through community therapeutic recreation.
Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association
To promote and support the optimal development and well being for youth and adults who have a primary physical or visual impairment through the provision of inclusive recreational, fitness and competitive sports activities and to offer opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership and training in collaboration with community based organizations.
Lincolnway Special Recreation Association
The primary purpose of LWSRA is to provide programs for people with a variety of special needs. These programs are developed with the intention of eliminating any leisure barriers and to facilitate the participant in developing a balance of leisure and socialization skills, recreation resources and opportunities, knowledge, and independence, provided in a variety of settings. All of these will attribute to the participant's overall well-being in the individual’s leisure lifestyles.
Maine-Niles Special Recreation
The Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation (M-NASR) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, teens and adults with physical, mental and emotional disabilities by providing quality therapeutic recreational programs. Therapeutic recreation is a professional service which uses "recreation" as a treatment and education modality. This service helps people with disabilities exercise their right to a lifestyle that focuses on functional independence and well-being in clinical, residential and community settings.
The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities
On October 20, 1990, Mayor Richard M. Daley created the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) to better meet the diverse needs of the more than 600,000 individuals with disabilities who live and work in Chicago. MOPD’s goal is to make Chicago the most accessible city in the nation.
Northeast DuPage Special Recreation
An award-winning agency, NEDSRA provides more than 600 recreation programs and services annually for both children and adults with disabilities. Our highly qualified staff and committed volunteers provide quality recreational programs such as Adapted and Wheelchair Sports, DuPage Pro League, Kids Klub, social clubs and Special Olympics sports year-round.
Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association
The Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) is an intergovernmental partnership of ten park districts, two cities and one village in the northern suburban area of Chicago. NSSRA provides and facilitates year-round recreation programs and services for children and adults with disabilities who live in the partner communities.
Northwest Special Recreation Association
NWSRA strives for each participant to function at his/her highest level of ability. Benefits of participation include increased socialization and community awareness, development of new leisure skills, increased physical and emotional well being, and increased self esteem, all in a fun, safe and structured recreation environment.
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) has been recognized as the "#1 Rehabilitation Hospital in America" since 1991 by U.S. News & World Report. No other specialty hospital has been consecutively ranked the "#1" by U.S. News & World Report for so long.
Rockford Park District
The Rockford Park District was formed in 1909 and is governed by an elected five-member board of commissioners who serve six-year terms without compensation. It is the second largest municipal park system in Illinois, serving the communities of Rockford, Loves Park, Cherry Valley, New Milford, and adjacent unincorporated areas of Boone and Winnebago Counties. The Mission of the Rockford Park District is to "help people enjoy life" by providing a quality park and recreation system.
South East Association for Special Parks and Recreation
The mission of SEASPAR is to provide recreation programs and services for residents with disabilities. Our vision is to enhance the quality of life for all SEASPAR residents with disabilities by providing excellence in recreation through programs and services.
Tri County Special Recreation Association
Tri County Special Recreation Association is a cooperative extension of two park districts and a village recreation department. The agency services parts of Cook, DuPage and Will counties in the southwest Chicago suburban area. Our programs held in all of our member communities in public and commercial recreation facilities.
US Paralympics
U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, is dedicated to becoming the world leader in the Paralympic sports movement and promoting excellence in the lives of people with physical disabilities.
Western DuPage Special Recreation
The Western DuPage Special Recreation Association has been providing fun, recreational opportunities to individuals of all ages with disabilities since 1976. WDSRA is a cooperative extension of nine park districts in the western suburbs of Chicago including: Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Roselle, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield. WDSRA is a two-time winner of the National Gold Medal Award and a recipient of the Illinois Distinguished Agency Award
West Suburban Special Recreation Association
