Athlete of the Month
Anthony Rushing
Olympic Archery

Lives On Target culminates every ten week BAM archery session with a competition among the four participating Chicago public schools, the last event was held on May 27 at Roberto Clemente High School. Archers compete for individual medals in different categories, including recurve and compound bow.
Anthony Rushing, a freshman at Robeson High School showed extreme accuracy during the competition and was singled out for Athlete of the Month by Lives on Target for his consistent improvement throughout the ten week program and his performance at the event. Anthony liked the fact everyone started out on the same level ten weeks ago as equals and through practice and instruction learned the techniques and angles of target shooting. Anthony loves all types of sports and has thoroughly enjoyed participating in the BAM program, never shying away from something new and giving a good effort. He believes archery has “brought out the best in him,” and hopes to have the opportunity to continue to develop his skills.
