WORLD SPORT CHICAGO COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

These Community Guidelines are here to help you understand what it means to be a participant and visitor to the World Sport Chicago community and those of our Affiliate Sites. Your use of this World Sport Chicago Site is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use.  Community participation on our Affiliate Sites is governed not only by these Guidelines and our Terms of Use, but also by the Terms of Use and related policies of the applicable Affiliate Site.

Acceptable Usage:

Do have respect for the Individual.


We're a community of many types of people, who all have the right to feel comfortable and who may not think what you think, believe what you believe or see what you see. So, be polite and respectful in your submissions and consider how others will feel about your postings.

Do submit content that you have created.

Respect the copyright of others. This means don't submit photos or videos that other people have created or shared and pass them off as your own.

Do have respect for your subjects.

Make sure that people in your images don't mind having their pictures shown on our site. Avoid postings that may depict people in embarrassing or hurtful ways.

Do moderate your content.


Take responsibility for ensuring that what you upload is appropriately tagged. Tags may be removed or added to submissions to ensure they can be categorized appropriately.

Do stay positive.


The Olympic Movement is rooted in transcending conflict and promoting peace and harmony through sport. The Chicago Bid is about our City's desire to be a part of that Movement, to host a spectacular Games, and to leave the Movement and our City stronger as a result. Help us keep the conversation positive and constructive in that spirit.

Unacceptable Usage:


Don't submit anything that isn't yours.


This includes other people's photos, video and/or stuff you've collected from around the Internet. If you want to share something from someone else's site, post a link or pointer to the site instead of copying their content.

Don't use World Sport Chicago for commercial purposes.

Accounts are for personal use only. If we find you selling products, services or yourself on the site, we will terminate your account. The World Sport Chicago name and its brand identity are not to be used for explicit or implicit commercial gain.

Don't submit anything you would be embarrassed for your grandmother to see.


Yes, this includes nudity, pornography, sexually explicit content as well as drunkenness or other embarrassing situations. If this describes your material, even if it's a video/picture of yourself, don't post it.

Don't submit material depicting or advocating illegal activity.

Be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we will report illegal or threatening activities.

Don't submit content that is hate speech.

Material that attacks or demeans a group based on race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, sexual orientation/gender identity or political beliefs has no place in the Olympic Movement, the Chicago Bid or World Sport Chicago.

Do not create misleading descriptions, tags, titles or thumbnails.


It's not okay to post misleading descriptions, tags, titles in order to increase page views. World Sport Chicago reserves the right to review submissions to ensure the appropriate tags are applied.

World Sport Chicago reserves the right to review any postings and remove any material that we believe violates the letter or spirit of these Community Guidelines and/or our Terms of Use.

Violations of any part of may result in termination of your account. If your account is terminated you are prohibited from creating any new accounts.

If you see any material that you believe is not in keeping with the letter or spirit of these Community Guidelines, please report it to info@worldsportchicago.org.
