Chicago Joins Washington D.C. and Los Angeles as the Backdrops for New Playoff-Style Format to Air on ESPN2
CHICAGO (June 1, 2015) – 7-Eleven City Slam presented by Brisk is back for 2015, and it is bringing the world’s best professional dunkers to Washington D.C., Chicago and Los Angeles. But instead of three stand-alone competitions, D.C. and Chicago will be semi-finals for a championship tilt in L.A. All three stops will be televised via tape-delay on ESPN2.
It all starts with four high-flying contestants in D.C. at New York Avenue Playground on June 20 which will air July 7. The next stop is in Chicago’s Seward Park – 375 W. Elm St. – on June 27 (airs July 28) with four more dunkers.
Finally, the L.A. event will take place at Venice Beach on July 25. The winners from Chicago and D.C. will face off against a YouTube slam dunk star and a top international dunker, making the 7-Eleven City Slam a diverse slice of the world’s most acrobatic high-flyers. The finale will air August 8.
As in past events, the dunkers will be vying for a cash prize with current National Basketball Association players among those serving as judges for the contest.
