High school juniors who live and study in Chicago and have participated in an Olympic/Paralympic sport for two seasons in the past three years are eligible to apply for one of 16 renewable college scholarships worth up to $10,000 annually ($40,000 total). Up to fifty-six students will be chosen to become WSC Scholars and participate in a Kaplan ACT tutoring and Chicago Scholars mentoring program that encourages academic and personal success during the college application process.
WSC has launched “Coach for Chicago” (CFC) to address the lack of coaches and people with sports knowledge to support local sports programs. Coach for Chicago matches schools, parks and social service organizations with enthusiastic volunteers who are committed to helping the youth of Chicago!
Chicago 2016, World Sport Chicago and U.S. Paralympics announced the creation of a Paralympic component to the legacy organization. The Chicago Paralympic Development Program is the first entity of its kind in the country and addresses a new segment of Chicago’s population served by World Sport Chicago. It partners with existing Paralympic sport providers in the city and suburbs to enhance the opportunities for sport delivery to the public with physical or visual disabilities.
World Sport Chicago is partnering with the Chicago Park District and USA Badminton to establish an organized youth badminton program in the Chicago parks.  The badminton program will be launched this fall in 41 park locations and will target boys and girls ages 8 - 14 years old.
World Sport Chicago is partnering with the Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Park District, Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation and other wrestling sport partners in the city of Chicago to help expand and enhance Public League Wrestling.  Through targeted initiatives such as equipment grants, coaching clinics, and connecting clubs with resources at the national level, WSC aims to provide the Public League with similar opportunities as its suburban peers. 
World Sport Chicago partnered with USA Boxing in application for an Olympic Opportunity Grant from the United States Olympic Committee to develop and launch the Gloves not Guns program.  Gloves not Guns is a program for Chicago youth that offers free clinics and coaching at designated training sites.  Coaches are USA Boxing certified and offer youth a healthy, supervised alternative from participating in gang activities and violent behavior. 
World Sport Chicago is partnering with the Chicago Park District, Illinois Swimming and the City of Chicago as a local partner in USA Swimming's National Make-a-Splash Campaign.  Make-a-Splash is aimed at increasing awareness around the issues of water-safety and participation in local Learn-to-Swim opportunities, particularly in ethnically diverse communities. 
As an extension to its Make-a-Splash initiative, World Sport Chicago has launched a program to promote and enhance competitive aquatics in the Chicagoland area.  The program aims to increase the appeal and awareness of existing aquatic opportunities, to expand and enhance community programming, and to increase access to quality facilities.
World Sport Chicago is partnering with USA Track & Field, Track & Field Athletes Union, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park District and Chicago-based Friends of Track & Field in developing a program to revitalize passion for the sport of track & field.  Through an Olympic Opportunity Grant from the US Olympic Committee, WSC and its partners will work together to organize a series of weekend training camps featuring elite athletes, coaches, and Olympians for local young track & field athletes.
Through the World Sport Chicago International Sport Exchange Program, young athletes have the opportunity to travel abroad in order to share their culture, ideas, and training techniques with Chicago area youth and clubs.  WSC brings these athletes to Chicago and partners them with local clubs where they train daily, breaking down language barriers and cultural differences.
In the Fall of 2009 WSC, in partnership with the Chicago Park District and local community fencers introduced introductory fencing programs to Chicago at two Park District Locations.
