WELCOME TO MAYOR DALEY'S SUMMER TRACK PROGRAM

Logo for Mayor Daley's Summer Track Program World Sport Chicago and Friends of Track and Field are delighted to announce the second season of Mayor Daley’s Summer Track Program!

We had a fantastic season last year. Over 300 children representing almost 20 aldermanic wards practiced both track and field events and competed throughout the summer in four city-wide meets. With the dedication and commitment of our excellent coaches, the result was truly first rate competition among our participants.

For the summer of 2010, we hope to improve on the success of last year’s program. Our goals are to engage youth of all physical abilities in a fun, active and safe competitive environment while increasing exposure and providing basic training in the sport of track and field. With many wards already confirming participation and many more certainly interested, the second season of Mayor Daley’s Summer Track Program promises to be another positive experience for the youth of Chicago.

08/10/2010: Results from the August 7th City-wide Championship are now available. CLICK HERE-->

07/23/2010: In observance of the annual Bud Billiken parade to be held on Saturday, August 14th and due to related street closures, we have been asked to move the Championship meet to Saturday, August 7th. The meet will be held at Hanson Stadium (5501 W. Fullerton). We apologize for any inconvenience.

06/08/2010: World Sport Chicago and Mayor Daley’s Summer Track Program would like to welcome summer interns Cindy Nielsen and Caroline Kerr who will join Meghan Kollbocker as ward liaisons and program coordinators throughout the summer.
