The World Sport Chicago Summer Track Program is a free introductory program in the sport of track and field available to Chicago boys and girls ages 6 through 14. The program is designed to provide basic experience in the sport as well as community-based programming to keep kids active and engaged throughout the summer. Coaches and parent volunteers work with kids two to three times a week and attend four meets throughout the season sponsored by World Sport Chicago and the Friends of Track and Field. The program is open to both able-bodied youth and youth with physical or visual disabilities.
Last year over 400 children representing over 20 aldermanic wards participated in both track and field events. This year we hope to broaden the scope and reach of the program by inviting Chicago community-based organizations to become our program partners and field a team. If you would like to sign up your child to participate in the program, please reference the list of participating community groups to find the program located nearest you and follow the registration instructions listed on the participant information page.
