World Sport Chicago is excited to announce in alliance with USA Wrestling, Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation, Chicago Wrestling Coaches Association, Chicago Wrestling Club and Beat the Streets - Chicago the presention of the 2011 World Sport Chicago Wrestling Festival on Saturday, June 4th at Chicago's Navy Pier. Debuting in 2010 as Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival, last year's event hosted over 350 wrestlers from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Colordao competing in age brackets as young as 10 to 35+ years. This year we hope to attract over 600 wrestlers and their families for a fun-filled, action-packed day.

The now annual event hopes to bring back the competitive wrestling spirit to the city of Chicago while allowing access by everyone regardless of age and experience. No pre-qualification is necessary to participate in the four man, round-robin style tournament blocked on age group, weight and experience level. The open tournament allows for a fun and challenging experience for everyone from first year wrestlers to seasoned veterans.

We are thrilled to once again be a part of this great event and to share the excitement that Chicago wrestling has to offer!

Chicago wrestling glory days are back!

World Sport Chicago, the Chicago Wrestling Coaches Association, the Chicago Wrestling Club and the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation teamed up for the First Annual Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Festival at Navy Pier on June 5th, 2010. Reminiscent of the late Mayor Richard J. Daley’s Wrestling Club, the groups partnered to bring back the competitive spirit of wrestling to the city.

Almost 350 wrestling competitors of all ages showcased their skills in a fun filled tournament. Olympians, area college and university athletes and former members of Mayor Daley’s Wrestling Club were in attendance performing demonstrations and signing autographs. With several matches occurring simultaneously throughout the day, there was never a dull moment.

WSC's focus is to connect youth, teens and adults to the sport of wrestling in a fun and competitive environment. We would like to thank everyone involved with the first annual Mayor Daley's Wrestling Festival. It was a tremendous endeavor that would not have been possible without the contributions of our partners, volunteers and participants. Thank you for your support!
